Since 2002

The chauffeur.

chauffeur.co.nz has operated since 2002 — a fixed-price chauffeur service in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown, running three Mercedes vehicles with employed drivers.

The price you see before you book is the price you pay. The vehicle you book is the vehicle that arrives.

We don't have an app you have to download.

We don't surge when it rains.

We don't send whoever's nearby.

We have three cars and the whole country, and we know the roads by heart.

A chauffeur is a person. Yours. On time. Every time.

We've believed that since 2002 — back when "chauffeur" still meant something.

The apps turned it into a transaction. One of them just became Uber.

We're keeping the word. And everything it used to mean.

The founding

Once, "chauffeur" meant a person. Yours. Known. The same hand on the wheel each time. Then the apps arrived and turned the chauffeur into a transaction — a marketplace of strangers, accepting or declining your evening like a food delivery.

In 2026, the biggest of them became Uber. We think the word deserves better. We've held it since 2002. We're giving it back its meaning.

What we believe

Excellence by subtraction

We remove until only the perfect remains.

The real thing

A chauffeur, not a platform. A person, not a ping.

Plain honesty

Fixed prices, no surge, no fine print, said out loud.

Quiet confidence

We never shout. The name already won.

Since 2002 — fixed prices — the vehicle you book is the vehicle that arrives — drivers employed by us.
