When your flight is delayed, a chauffeur service that tracks the flight adjusts and waits. The price does not change. That is what 'fixed' means — fixed including the variable that is the airline's, not yours.
The practical sequence: you book an airport transfer in the Mercedes E-Class, V-Class, or Sprinter. You note your flight number in the booking. The chauffeur monitors the flight's status. If the aircraft is late, the chauffeur adjusts their departure from base accordingly. They arrive when the flight lands, not when it was scheduled to land.
This matters because the alternative is the rebooking problem. If you used a rideshare app for an airport pickup, a delayed flight means the app's driver arrives at the scheduled time, the booking lapses, and you rebook on arrival — at whatever the current rate is. On a busy arrival bank, that rate may be higher than when you originally booked. You have paid twice, waited, and handled the logistics yourself.
At chauffeur.co.nz, none of that applies. The booking covers the transfer. The chauffeur adjusts. The price holds.
For departures, the same logic runs in reverse: if you are flying out, book your transfer for the recommended lead time. For international departures from Auckland Airport, three hours before your scheduled departure is a reasonable minimum. If you are uncertain, book earlier — the chauffeur arrives when the booking says; there is no charge for arriving at the airport with time to spare.
What happens if my flight is delayed several hours?
The chauffeur waits. For very long delays — several hours — contact us by phone or WhatsApp (+64 220 978953) and we will confirm the revised arrangement. For delays of up to two hours, the chauffeur adjusts without any action required from you. The fixed price applies regardless of delay length. There is no waiting-time surcharge.
Do I need to contact the chauffeur when I land?
For airport pickups, the chauffeur will be in the arrivals hall with a name board when your flight lands. You do not need to call ahead or send a message on arrival — the flight tracking handles the timing. If you want to confirm a meeting point for a specific terminal, you can leave a note in the booking or message us on WhatsApp. For Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Queenstown airports, the standard is the arrivals hall, name board, luggage handled.
Does this apply to all vehicles?
Yes. Flight tracking and the fixed-price delay policy apply to all three vehicles — the Mercedes E-Class (up to 3 passengers), the Mercedes V-Class (up to 7 passengers), and the Mercedes Sprinter (up to 11 passengers) — across all four cities. The price confirmed at booking is the price charged at pickup, regardless of flight status.
Since 2002 — fixed prices — the vehicle you book is the vehicle that arrives — drivers employed by us.
