You can absolutely hire a chauffeur by the hour for a wine tour in Auckland. We’ve been running hourly bookings since 2002, giving you a Mercedes and a trained driver for however long you need—whether that’s a half-day loop through Waiheke or a full afternoon across Matakana and Kumeu.
How does hourly hire work for a wine tour?
You book the vehicle and driver for a set number of hours, and they stay with you for the entire period. The chauffeur waits at each winery while you taste and tour, then drives you to the next stop. It’s door-to-door service on your schedule.
Which vehicle should I choose for a wine tour?
The Mercedes E-Class sedan works well for up to three passengers, while the V-Class handles groups of up to seven comfortably. Both come with space for any wine purchases you make along the way.
Can the chauffeur suggest wineries to visit?
Our chauffeurs know the Auckland wine regions—Waiheke Island, Kumeu, Matakana—and can offer suggestions if you ask, but they won’t plan your itinerary for you. You decide where to go and how long to stay at each stop.
What’s included in the hourly rate?
The fixed, GST-inclusive price covers the vehicle, the chauffeur, and all standard driving within the Auckland region. Ferry tickets to Waiheke, winery tasting fees, and any meals are separate. Visit /book to see the exact rate for your chosen hours and vehicle.
Do I need to book a full day?
No. You can book as few or as many hours as your wine tour requires. Most Auckland wine tours run between four and eight hours depending on how many wineries you want to visit and whether you’re including lunch.
Fixed prices, NZD, GST-inclusive. No surge, ever. The vehicle you book is the vehicle that arrives, driven by a chauffeur we employ — trained by us and accountable to us, not an app contractor who can decline the job. The chauffeur — since 2002.
